ReSmart’s national vape

recycling program

In partnership with Vapelabs.

Vapelabs - Australia’s leading distributor of therapeutic vaping products - is launching a 3-month trial for vape and e-cigarette recycling across multiple pharmacies.

Each pharmacy will feature a dedicated collection bin for used vapes and e-cigarettes. Once collected by our drivers, they are then sent to our certified recycling partner, ensuring they are processed responsibly and kept out of landfill.

Together, we’re making recycling vapes safe, accessible, off our streets and kerbside bins!

    • Please ensure any cracked or leaking vapes are put inside a zip-lock bag and then place the bagged item into the vape collection bin.

    • If you have any questions please enquire with the pharmacy staff, or email us at hello@recyclesmart.com

  • Our recycling partner will ensure safe handling and dismantling of the vapes.

Vapes are thermally treated to neutralize nicotine liquids and gases before being shredded in a battery recycling process.

Metals, plastics, and black mass are separated and reused in downstream manufacturing, supporting a circular economy.

  • If you don’t have access to the drop-off locations, don’t worry! We can come to you. Our doorstep service is perfect for not just vapes but for getting rid of all your tricky-waste!

Think soft plastics, old phones, cords, torn clothing, batteries and even household appliances. See the full list here.

Our community has diverted over 1.8 million kg of waste from landfill! You can be part of something impactful.

  • Great question!

Vapes contain hazardous components, including a lithium-ion battery and chemicals.

    • When tossed, heavy metals and toxic chemicals leach into the environment.

    • They are a fire risk due to the in-built battery, posing as hazardous in landfill, recycling trucks and facilities.

    • Vapes do not belong in general waste or recycling bins for this reason.

Can’t get to a drop-off? Do it from home!
